Repoblica is a speculative history project in partnership with Bloedd, Amgueddfa Cymru. Over a course of 3 months of workshops TBGC youth members imagined an alternative reality where the Merthyr Rising of 1831 resulted in the establishment of the first worker’s republic in the world.

Young people created national dress and dishes, statues, AI art, architecture, landscapes, photographs, constitutions and customs that were collected into a travel guide of this imagined nation.

Over 50 young people participated in the workshops and interactive displays resulting in a brightly imaginative zine that you can read here.
