Centenary Events
Marking 100 years of Treharris Boys & Girls Club, the centenary programme is a year of free events, workshops and exhibitions culminating in the creation of a local museum at the club. This project has been made possible thanks to the National Lottery Heritage Fund and players.
So far we have hosted a centenary birthday party, restarted the tradition of the pit parties at the club, held community cinema screenings, upskilled our community with arts and heritage collection workshops, and reunited Taff Bargoed colliery workers at our Miner Meet Ups.
Building off the Making History campaign, the museum will focus solely on viewing the history and landscape through the eyes of working class people growing up and living in the Valley over the last centuries.
